Attorney Latrice Knighton has made a career of helping those in need. Not only is she an award-winning family law attorney, she’s also worked as a District Attorney, life coach, and volunteers to help victims of domestic violence.
All of these valuable experiences come together in the courtroom where Latrice is a fierce advocate for her clients. But for her, the job doesn’t stop at winning cases. Divorce brings with it countless, unforeseeable challenges. Latrice knows this firsthand, having endured the hardships of a divorce personally.
She fully understands that even if the case goes smoothly, it doesn’t mean that life instantly gets easy. That’s why Latrice works with her clients not only for results in the courtroom but also prepares them for the future ahead.
In her experience, after the dust settles life gets better. Success is spelled out both in winning cases and in equipping her clients with the knowledge they need to face the future. When working with Latrice, you’ll find makes it a point to be a beacon of light against the darkness of the unknown.
Latrice prides herself on being an effective problem solver. It was her need to find the answers to difficult questions that attracted her to the practice of law in the first place. The more difficult the issue, the more she has to sink her teeth into.
Latrice’s hard work and dedication is reflected in her numerous awards and honors, including being named a Leading Lawyer by M Magazine and being given the 40 Under 40 Award by the Milwaukee Business Journal in 2013. As recently as 2016, she received a Trailblazer in Business award from Governor Scott Walker.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin Law School, Latrice worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Milwaukee County and served senators as a Legal Assistant for the Ohio Senate. Prior to joining Sterling Law Offices, she owned her own family law practice, Milton Family Law, S.C., which served southeastern Wisconsin.
Currently, she serves as a board member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin as well as an active member of the Trust and Real Estate Section of the Waukesha County Bar. In addition, she is a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin.
